OBINGWA LGA SET TO TAKE ITS PRIDE OF PLACE AS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN BEGINS RENOVATION OF COUNCIL HEADQUARTERS IN MGBOKO.
As part of activities lined up for the rehabilitation of the Obingwa Local Government Headquarters in Mgboko the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Micheal Ibe Nwoke yesterday conducted leaders of the LGA round the council premises for an on the spot assessment of the decay in the council.
Rising from a special stakeholders meeting called at the Council, the chairman called on all leaders to unite with his administration to restore the lost glory of the council headquarters in Mgboko which used to be the former headquarters of the old Obioma Ngwa LGA now Ugwunagbo LGA and Osisioma Ngwa LGA.
Hon Micheal Ibe Nwoke asssured the stakeholders that he will do everything in his power to reclaim all the encroached parts of the council expressing that his administration will not tolerate any illegal trespass on any part of government property or land .
In the words of the chairman : ” anything that is illegal does not exist” every body farming in this council must within 7 days from today uproot their crops or have them destroyed. All those leaving in official resident of management staff of the council without approvals must quit and handover possession of the properties to the relavant departments of the council. The chairman also instructed that from henceforth anybody entering and leaving the council must have identity card. And all visitors issued with visitors IS cards at the gate to reduce the occurrence of crime and criminalityaround and within the council during and after official hours.
The chairman infurtherance of his resolve to ensure compliance with the objective of government issued 5 executive orders.
The leaders who attended the facility tour of the council spoke to journalists after the inspection.
Responding to the directives of the chairman and the appeal of stakeholders, the Head of Service Obingwa LGA, Chief Barr. C.H. Ogelle promised to mobilize the LGA workers to support the chairman to achieve his proposals for the development of the council.
