FREE SOWORE – HE IS THE LEAST OF OUR PROBLEMS:
As long as Nigeria remains a democratic State, peaceful protests are a big part of our democratic process. The right to freedom of speech and assembly are guaranteed by our constitution, and no sane citizen would cross the arms over the chest, watching any attempt by the government of the day to rob citizens of their fundamental human rights.
When you allow your moral beliefs to be politically hijacked, allow your identity and moral values to be sold to rats and vultures of politics at the expense of good governance, automatically you will be left with no power of control and before the world and its wife, you would appear an aggressor, a tyrant, a dictator.
A lot of bad things are happening under the watch of the president, yet he doesn’t want anyone to talk about them. This is not 1983 military junta Mr President; this is 2021 democratic government. Caution your ministers and your security men. Freedom of Speech is a fundamental human right anywhere in the world. If you have any objection to the universal Freedom of Speech rules, then publish yours for the world to read.
Saddam Hussein’s security men could not save him. Gaffafi’s horsemen could not rescue him. Hosni Mubarak the former autocratic president of Egypt was already over 85 years when he was sent to prison in 2011. His predecessor too, Mohammed Morsi was also sentenced to death and later died in prison in 2019. One thing about them tables – they turn.
Leadership is really not an easy task, and I tell you President Buhari. No friends, no family, and nobody can be trusted in politics. It’s a dog-eat-dog business.. Those who are pushing you and praise-singing you and jailing citizens in your name today, will put the blame on you tomorrow. You have less than 2 years left in office – you still have time to put things right.
