CELEBRATING AN ICON: ONIYANGI AT 53
Like other days of the year, the 15th of June 1967 witnessed a very joyous atmosphere in the household of Dr. Abdulkadir Suleiman Oniyangi and Hajia Memunat Oniyangi (Nee Idiagbon) for the birth of their son, AbdulAzeez Yinka Oniyangi.
Yinka started his early life in Ilorin, where he attended Trinity Nursery & Primary School and Government Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State. He then went further to earn himself diploma certificates in Insurance, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Business Administration, all from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State.
Undoubtedly in his line of career, Oniyangi has achieved a very great feat in both the private and public sectors. He was at a time an Assistant Vice President at Lotus Capital-Halal Investment Ltd, the Pioneer Islamic Investment Asset Management Firm in Nigeria too. Also, he was a pioneer in the Contributory Pension Industry where he worked as the Northern Regional Manager (ARM) Pension Manager L.T.D. He was also the Pioneer Branch Manager (Abuja) at Leadway Pensure PFA LTD at a time in his career life. Aside these, he also served remarkably at the Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation where he functioned at the Corporate Research and Development Department as a Research Executive.
Currently, AbdulAzeez steers the ship as the President/CEO of Swift Air Ambulance Services Ltd, an organization that is into Medevac and Medical tourism, which he established in 2014 and commenced full operations in January 2015. He is also an astute achiever- who within the time of establishing the Medical Tourism Unit- partners with Valiant Clinic, City Walk Dubai (Managed by Houston Methodist Leading Medicine of Texas) and owned by MERAAS Holdings of His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed Rashid IBN Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
No doubt, Yinka Oniyangi is not only a person of eminence, he is also a trustworthy leader who has received several honors and recommendation, home and abroad, for his diligence and astute profoundness when it comes to service. Aside that, his honesty and selfless attitude has also been verified amongst several internationally-recognized governmental bodies, which has resultantly established his repute as a forerunner in this country on the struggle to attain a poverty-free society.
Similarly, out of his zeal to protect and represent the interest of the common citizens, Yinka Oniyangi contested in the last Kwara governorship election under the New Progressive Movement political party. And even though he didnt emerge, he has not stopped fostering his course of ensuring a pleasant well-being for Kwarans and even beyond Kwara.
For AbdulAzeez Yinka Oniyangi, aside being consistent, hardworking, highly motivated, he is also very friendly, outgoing and extremely dependable when it comes to working with the public.
Simple, God-fearing and an easygoing person, Oniyangi believes that Truth and Fairness in every situation are key to achieving a better society.
As he continues in this journey of life, even as he celebrates his 53rd year anniversary today, he hopes to continue being a source of benevolence for the less privileged in the society. He also aims to be a motivation for all socially relegated individuals.
